First: GEO is not an AI ranking shortcut

Google's current guidance for AI Overviews and AI Mode still points back to SEO fundamentals: pages need to be crawlable, indexable, and eligible to appear in normal Search. GEO is better understood as a content and evidence operating model, not a secret way around search systems.

ChatGPT, Google, and Bing each decide which sources to show. No service should promise an AI recommendation. A more durable goal is to make real information easier to retrieve, understand, cite, and verify.

Four page foundations: from findable to cite-worthy

For a B2B factory, GEO is not about publishing more generic articles. It is about giving each page a clear subject, a clear buyer question, and evidence that can be checked.

  • Crawlable and indexable: keep the SEO basics, internal links, mobile experience, and important pages accessible.
  • Clear entity relationships: connect the company, products, applications, certifications, capacity, service areas, and contact details consistently.
  • Visible evidence: use specifications, QC, samples, MOQ, lead times, factory images, and case evidence to answer procurement questions.
  • Structured data that matches the page: JSON-LD can help machines understand a page, but marked-up content must match what users can see.

How to measure it: do not stop at whether AI mentioned you

Where the account has access, review generative-search exposure and click signals in Search Console. Bing Webmaster Tools AI Performance can also show cited pages and grounding queries. These reports are useful for finding which pages and questions are gaining visibility—not as a ranking guarantee.

For ChatGPT referrals, use analytics to review referral traffic from ChatGPT and make sure the site does not block OAI-SearchBot used for search. Then connect AI visibility with product-page clicks, forms, emails, and qualified inquiries.
